Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley's 'Vampire Diaries' Tea Drinking Causes Anxiety

Actors Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley have revealed that filming certain scenes for "The Vampire Diaries" caused them to develop severe anxiety issues. The cause? Drinking excessive amounts of tea.

Speaking at a recent panel discussion, the actors explained that they were required to drink copious amounts of tea during lengthy filming sessions. This was often done in order to keep up their energy levels during demanding scenes.

However, the caffeine overload eventually took its toll on both stars. "We drank so much tea on set," said Somerhalder, who played vampire heartthrob Damon Salvatore in the popular TV show. "It got to the point where we had the most insane anxiety issues."

Wesley, who portrayed Stefan Salvatore in all eight seasons of "The Vampire Diaries," echoed his co-star's sentiments: "I remember always feeling so jittery and anxious after drinking all that tea."

While it may seem like a minor issue, excessive caffeine intake can lead to serious health problems such as insomnia, high blood pressure, and even heart palpitations.

Despite this experience causing them some discomfort while filming 'The Vampire Diaries', Somerhalder and Wesley ultimately enjoyed their time working together on set. The two actors remain close friends today and are currently developing a new supernatural drama series called “Infinite Travelers," which is set to premiere later this year.

As fans eagerly anticipate seeing these two talented actors back on screen together again soon, it remains clear that sometimes even something as seemingly harmless as drinking too much tea can have unexpected consequences.
