Shreveport, Louisiana - A surprise attack left at least six people injured after multiple gunmen opened fire on a crowded street in Shreveport. The incident occurred when several individuals emerged from a silver sedan and began shooting indiscriminately at pedestrians.

The attack took place on one of the busiest streets in the city, leaving many people shaken and traumatized. Eyewitnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing people running for their lives.

"I was just walking down the street when I heard gunshots," said one witness who wished to remain anonymous. "People were screaming and trying to get away. It was chaos."

Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, transporting the wounded to local hospitals for treatment. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but police are actively investigating leads and searching for suspects.

"This brazen act of violence has no place in our community," said Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins in a statement released shortly after the incident. "We will work tirelessly with law enforcement officials to bring those responsible to justice."

As news of this tragic event spreads throughout Louisiana, residents are expressing shock and dismay over such senseless violence taking place in their community.

"Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy," said Governor John Bel Edwards in a tweet following the shooting. "We stand united with our friends and neighbors in Shreveport during this difficult time."
