Reese Witherspoon and Husband Jim Toth Announce Separation After More Than a Decade of Marriage

Actress Reese Witherspoon and her husband, talent agent Jim Toth, have announced their decision to separate after more than 10 years of marriage. The couple released a joint statement on Instagram in March 2023, revealing that they had made the difficult choice to divorce after much consideration.

"We have some personal announcements to make... We have made the painful choice to divorce after a great lot of thought and deliberation," the statement read. "We are moving forward with great love, generosity, and kindness toward each other."

Witherspoon and Toth tied the knot in March 2011 at her ranch estate in Ojai, California. The couple shares one child together, a son named Tennessee James Toth.

The Oscar-winning actress was previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe from 1999 until their divorce in 2008. They share two children together: daughter Ava Elizabeth Phillippe and son Deacon Reese Phillippe.

Despite their split, Witherspoon and Toth plan on remaining amicable for the sake of their family.

"Our priority will continue to be raising our beautiful son together," they said in their statement. "As we embark on this next chapter in our lives, we ask for privacy."

Fans around the world were saddened by this news as many considered them one of Hollywood's most beloved couples who always demonstrated mutual respect for each other.
