Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in 'Creed III' and 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania', has been charged with alleged strangulation, assault and harassment. The North Texas native was arrested by the New York Police Department on Saturday following an alleged domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman.
According to police reports, the incident occurred in a private residence in Brooklyn. The victim reported that Majors had allegedly strangled her during an argument before assaulting her. Authorities were called to the scene of the incident where they arrested Majors without further incident.
Majors is currently being held at a local precinct pending arraignment in court. His representatives have not yet commented on the situation.
The actor's star has been rising over recent years as he landed major roles in Hollywood blockbusters such as 'Lovecraft Country' and Marvel's upcoming film 'Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania'. However, this latest development may have serious implications for his career if found guilty of these charges.
Domestic violence continues to be a pervasive issue across America, affecting individuals from all walks of life regardless of their fame or status. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse or needs help leaving an abusive relationship, there are resources available including national hotlines and local support groups.
As always, it is important that we hold accountable those who perpetrate acts of violence against others while also supporting victims who come forward about their experiences.
