Radio Host Speculates The Rock Might Be Working On Purchasing NHL’s Ottawa Senators

In a recent episode of his show "Coming In Hot," radio host Brent Wallace put forth an interesting theory - that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might be part of a group looking to purchase the NHL's Ottawa Senators. This comes after the passing of the team's previous owner, Eugene Melnyk.

Wallace didn't have any concrete evidence to support his speculation, but he did note that Johnson has been involved in sports ventures before. The actor and former pro wrestler is part-owner of the XFL football league and has expressed interest in owning an NFL team someday.

If Johnson were to join a bid for the Senators, it would certainly add some star power to the process. However, as 411MANIA notes in their coverage of Wallace's comments, there are likely many other potential buyers interested in acquiring an NHL franchise.

It remains to be seen if anything will come from this rumor or if Johnson is even considering such a move. For now, fans will have to wait and see what happens with the future ownership of the Ottawa Senators.
