Professional wrestler Bryan Danielson made a surprise return to AEW TV on Wednesday night's episode of Dynamite. The former WWE superstar helped his allies from the Blackpool Combat Club take down reigning AEW World Champion Kenny Omega in a shocking turn of events.
The attack on Omega came after he successfully defended his title against Christian Cage in the main event. As Omega was celebrating his victory, the lights went out and "Flight of the Valkyries" began playing over the loudspeakers. The crowd erupted as Bryan Danielson emerged from backstage, marking his first appearance in an AEW ring since signing with the company earlier this month.
Danielson quickly joined forces with Blackpool Combat Club members Cesaro and Pete Dunne to confront Omega and his faction known as The Elite. After a brief scuffle, all three members of Blackpool Combat Club hit their signature moves on different members of The Elite before turning their attention back to Omega.
In an intense moment that left fans on the edge of their seats, Danielson locked eyes with Omega before hitting him with a running knee strike that sent him crashing to the mat. The crowd roared as officials rushed to break up the brawl between both factions.
Danielson's return has been highly anticipated by fans ever since he announced that he was leaving WWE earlier this year. His arrival at AEW has been seen as a major coup for Tony Khan's promotion, which is already home to some of wrestling's biggest stars including Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley.
With Danielson now officially part of AEW's roster, fans are eagerly awaiting what could be some epic showdowns between him and other top wrestlers like CM Punk or Adam Page. It remains unclear what role he will play going forward but one thing is for sure - Bryan Danielson is back and ready to make waves in professional wrestling once again.
