Detroit residents are on high alert as police continue to search for a suspect in the rape of an 80-year-old woman. The brutal attack occurred on March 26, when the perpetrator allegedly dragged the elderly victim out of her home and sexually assaulted her.

Authorities have released a description of the suspect, urging anyone with information to come forward. "Turn him in tonight," said Detroit Police Chief James Craig at a press conference on Wednesday. "This is someone who needs to be brought to justice."

The community has rallied together, with many taking to social media to spread awareness and encourage others to share any potential leads. Residents are also stepping up their own efforts by organizing neighborhood watch groups and increasing surveillance around their homes.

"I can't even imagine what this poor woman must be going through right now," said local resident Sarah Johnson. "We need to do everything we can as a community to catch this guy before he hurts anyone else."

Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious around the time of the attack or who has any information about the case to contact them immediately. They have assured residents that all tips will remain anonymous.

"We will not stop until we find this individual and bring him to justice," added Chief Craig. "No one should feel unsafe in their own home, especially our most vulnerable citizens."
