Louisville-based global spirits company Brown-Forman has made headlines again with its CEO, Lawson Whiting, being named to the list of World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere. The organization defines and measures corporate ethical standards and promotes best practices.
Whiting has been in the main leadership role at Brown-Forman since 2018 and on the executive team since 2013. Under his leadership, the company has continued to diversify its brand portfolio by acquiring Gin Mare for approximately $500 million in September and Diplomático Rum in January 2023.
Beyond expanding their product offerings, Brown-Forman is also investing in their community through their foundation. In fact, last week they announced their largest investment since forming the foundation in 2018 - $50 million committed over a ten-year period to be given to five organizations located within West Louisville.
The news comes as no surprise as Whiting is known for his commitment to transparency and ethics within the company culture. "Our integrity must remain uncompromised," said Whiting after receiving recognition from Ethisphere.
With this latest recognition from Ethisphere along with recent acquisitions and investments into local communities, it seems that under Whiting’s leadership Brown-Forman will continue making waves both globally and locally within Kentucky.
