On Thursday, a jury in Park City, Utah found actor Gwyneth Paltrow not at fault in a 2016 ski collision. The Oscar-winning actress was being sued for $300,000 by Terry Sanderson, who claimed that Paltrow crashed into him while skiing and caused him injuries.
After deliberating for just a few hours, the jury found that Paltrow was not to blame for the incident. Speaking after the verdict was announced, Paltrow expressed her relief and thanked her legal team for their hard work.
"I'm just happy this is all behind me now," she said. "I love skiing and I never want anyone to get hurt on the slopes."
Paltrow had been accused of skiing out of control when she collided with Sanderson on a beginner run at Deer Valley Resort in Park City. According to court documents, Sanderson suffered four broken ribs and other injuries as a result of the incident.
Throughout the trial, both sides presented conflicting testimony from witnesses about what happened on the day of the crash. However, ultimately it was determined that there wasn't enough evidence to prove that Paltrow was responsible.
The case highlights some of the risks associated with winter sports like skiing and snowboarding. While these activities can be enjoyable and exhilarating, they also require participants to be aware of their surroundings and take necessary precautions to avoid accidents.
As for Paltrow's future plans on hitting up Deer Valley Resort again? Only time will tell!
