Texas Republican Falls For The Old Filthy Fake Name Prank In Hearing

Texas Republican Falls For The Old Filthy Fake Name Prank In Hearing

During a hearing in Texas, a Republican state representative fell for the old prank of calling out a fake name. Jeff Leach, who represents District 67 in the Texas House of Representatives, was conducting a virtual hearing when he called on someone named "Phil McCracken" to speak.

After waiting for several seconds with no response, Leach realized he had been pranked and said: "OK, you got your moment. Hope you enjoy it."

The incident quickly went viral on social media with many people finding it amusing that an elected official could fall for such a prank.

This is not the first time that something like this has happened during virtual hearings. Earlier this year, another politician fell for a similar prank during a Zoom meeting.

While some may find these incidents funny, others argue that they detract from the seriousness of important political discussions and can be seen as disrespectful to those who are trying to make their voices heard.

Regardless of one's opinion on the matter, it is clear that virtual meetings have created new challenges for politicians and officials alike as they navigate through uncharted waters in today's technology-driven world.
