Former President Trump to travel to New York amid indictment for hush money scandal

Former President Donald Trump is expected to travel from Florida to New York next week, where he will face indictment for his alleged 2016 hush money scandal. The Secret Service is working with the New York Police Department, FBI, New York State court officers and the Manhattan District Attorney's Office to finalize the security and logistics of Trump's arraignment and booking.

According to reports, former President Trump will return directly to Mar-a-Lago after the arraignment on Tuesday and will not be arrested in handcuffs. However, he is reportedly traveling to New York City one day ahead of his scheduled arraignment at the Manhattan courthouse.

The alleged payments include a $130,000 sum given to Stormy Daniels as well as $150,000 given to former Playboy model Karen McDougal. Donald Trump has slammed the indictment calling it a witch-hunt while his lawyers are signaling they are likely going try various attempts such as disqualifying prosecutors or judges in his case along with moving it from state court into federal court.

The first indication of Trump’s posture will likely come during Tuesday's arraignment when a deadline would be set for various motions in this case followed by strict adjournment dates for other phases of this case.

Under New York state law mug shots can't be released publicly so even if former President Trump were arrested there won't be any public record of that event.
