The Evolution of Mobile Phones: From the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X to Apple's Voice Isolation

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the release of the first mobile phone, the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X. Weighing in at a whopping 1.75lbs (784g), it was far from portable by today's standards. However, over the past five decades, mobile phones have evolved significantly and changed our lives in countless ways.

The inventor of that first call, Marty Cooper from Bell Laboratories, may not be impressed with modern handset designs but he never predicted phones would become handheld "supercomputers" with cameras and internet access. Today's smartphones are capable of much more than just making calls; they can connect us to social media, record videos and even pay for our shopping.

One recent addition to smartphones is Apple's Voice Isolation feature. Previously only available on FaceTime and WhatsApp calls, this feature blurs out background sounds so voices can be heard much clearer during standard calls as well.

To enable Voice Isolation during a call on an iPhone, users simply need to pull down to reveal Control Center and tap it. This new feature works similarly to noise-cancelling headphones which remove disruptive background sounds allowing better clarity for conversation.

Although technology has transformed humanity for better according to Marty Cooper who has written a book on its transformational power , started companies done speaking tours & media appearances since his first public cell phone call in1973 , he doesn't necessarily embrace every aspect of modern tech advancements .

As we celebrate this milestone anniversary for mobile phones today let’s take time look back at how this piece of technology has reshaped industries culture & way we relate ourselves!
