In an ambitious move, cloud integration platform Boomi has announced its intention to acquire competitors and expand internationally under the leadership of new CEO Steve Lucas. The company is looking to be a "consolidator" in the tech industry as it aims for aggressive expansion.
Boomi, known for its leading integration Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS), provides businesses with comprehensive solutions that connect applications, data, and people across various environments. With Steve Lucas at the helm since December 2021, the company now looks forward to expanding its reach globally by acquiring competitors.
"We will acquire this year," stated Lucas confidently during a recent interview. He expressed excitement about entering new markets and broadening Boomi's customer base through strategic acquisitions. Additionally, he emphasized his commitment to positioning Boomi as a key player in global technology consolidation efforts.
Lucas brings extensive experience from prior roles such as President of Digital Enterprise Platform Group at SAP SE and CEO of Marketo Inc., where he led both companies through significant growth periods. His expertise is expected to aid him greatly in driving Boomi towards achieving similar success on an international scale.
As part of their expansion plans, Boomi recently opened offices in Paris and Frankfurt - two major European cities with thriving business communities that align well with the company's goals. These regional hubs are expected to serve as centers for fostering partnerships with local enterprises while also establishing strong relationships within those respective markets.
"The opening of our offices in Paris and Frankfurt represents a significant milestone for us," said Eric Duffaut, Chief Revenue Officer at Boomerang Commerce Inc., who oversees sales operations worldwide including Europe. "We're excited about tapping into these vibrant ecosystems filled with innovative startups."
Alongside acquiring competitors domestically or abroad – which can range from small niche players up until larger organizations – another area being explored includes partnering directly with customers themselves when it comes to investing resources for co-development purposes.
"We want to create a powerful ecosystem that drives innovation and helps our customers succeed," shared Lucas. He emphasized the importance of building strong partnerships with client organizations, providing them with tailored solutions that cater to their specific needs while also leveraging Boomi's expertise in cloud integration technology.
As Boomi prepares for an aggressive expansion under Steve Lucas' leadership, they are well-positioned as a consolidator in the tech industry. With plans to acquire competitors and expand internationally through strategic investments and collaborations, it is clear that the company is determined not only to grow but also to shape the future landscape of cloud integration services worldwide.
