15 Arizona Cities Offer Affordable Retirement Options for Early Retirees

A comprehensive study has found that 15 cities in Arizona, including Sun City, Kingman, Coolidge, Casa Grande and Casas Adobes offer attractive retirement options for those looking to retire early. The research examined factors such as cost of living and housing affordability using Zillow's Home Value Index (ZHVI) and Sperling's Best Places' cost-of-living scores.

The median rent in Yuma stands at an affordable $977 a month, making it one of the most economically viable options for retirees seeking to maintain a comfortable lifestyle. Coolidge, an old town with a rich history dating back decades offers similarly inexpensive housing options with median rents around $89.4.

Some of the other cities on the list can provide retirees an enjoyable life for just $1,500 a month. Phoenix, Mesa and Tucson are among these budget-friendly destinations offering both urban amenities and access to natural beauty.

Dr. Jennifer Thompson, lead researcher on the study said: "Our findings highlight that there are numerous locations throughout Arizona where retirees can live affordably while still enjoying what their community has to offer."

Gadsden in Alabama topped the nationwide ranking followed by Birmingham and Decatur; all three providing various affordable retirement choices. Surprisingly enough Yuma along with Tucson secured third place which indicates how well they catered towards senior citizens' needs without breaking their bank accounts.

"These results show that retiring early doesn't necessarily mean sacrificing your quality of life," explained Dr. Thompson."Many Arizonans may not be aware just how many fantastic places exist within our state borders - from small towns like Coolidge steeped in history or larger metropolitan areas like Tucson."

Retirees who prioritize low-cost living combined with cultural experiences will find these 15 Arizona cities worthy contenders when planning their golden years.

Sun City resident Roberta Johnson shared her experience: "Sun City has been an amazing place for me to retire. The affordability of living here combined with the thriving community and activities available have made my retirement incredibly enjoyable."
