Atlanta Journal-Constitution Launches Politically Georgia Podcast with VP Joe Biden

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has announced the launch of their 24-hour Politically Georgia Podcast, which will be hosted by Vice President Joe Biden. The podcast aims to provide in-depth political analysis and discussions surrounding key issues affecting the state.

In an upcoming Listener Mailbag segment scheduled for next Friday, Biden is set to answer questions from Greg and Patricia. Listeners can subscribe to the podcast for free on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts or Stitcher.

This announcement comes after President Biden declared his intention to run for re-election on Tuesday. Late-night host Desi Lydic humorously remarked that he wasn't exactly "running" but rather participating in the election process. This joke was featured among other highlights such as Natalie Portman recreating iconic roles from her career alongside host James Corden in his final installment of “Role Call” on “The Late Late Show.” Jimmy Fallon also poked fun at Biden's campaign slogan 'Finish The Job,' suggesting that Americans would be happy if he could just finish a story.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had to clarify her initial comments about whether President Biden would serve all eight years if reelected. She initially stated that serving a full two terms would be “something for [Biden] to decide," but later clarified that if re-elected, he would remain in office. A recent poll showed a majority of voters (70% Democrats) believe he should not seek a second term.

At age 80 during the announcement of his reelection bid, some have raised concerns over President Biden's cognitive decline and health throughout his campaign. However, doctors insist that the oldest-ever US president is fit for duty and capable of handling responsibilities associated with being commander-in-chief.

Interestingly enough, during one of his earlier campaigns against Republican Sen.Cale Boggs who was then 63-years-old, Biden attacked Boggs for being too old to understand modern life. This agist approach was criticized by other senators but played a key role in his victory at the time.

Despite concerns and criticisms, President Biden remains confident in his ability to lead the country and has announced his 2024 reelection campaign slogan: "Let's Finish The Job." With recent polling indicating that 69% of Americans hold pessimistic views about the economy now and in the future, it will be interesting to see how this election unfolds.
