MSNBC aired more damning whistleblower audio on Tuesday, which appears to show Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) plotting to overthrow the 2020 election by blocking the certification of Joe Biden's win on January 6 and establishing a commission to investigate nonexistent claims of fraud. The tapes were provided by Fox whistleblower Abby Grossberg, who gave them to MSNBC host Ari Melber.
According to the recordings, Cruz reportedly tried selling his plan to Fox host and Trump ally Maria Bartiromo on January 2, only four days before the Capitol riot. Last week, The Beat aired audio from a conversation between Cruz and Bartiromo in November 2020 that stressed the importance of network guests coming on air with facts supporting their claims about widespread voter fraud.
On Tuesday's airing, MSNBC revealed additional whistleblower audio discussing a plot involving Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) attempting to overthrow the 2020 election prior to January 6. In these files, it is evident that he tried persuading Fox host Maria Bartiromo as early as Jan.2 – just days before the Capitol riots ensued.
