Angelina Jolie and Maddox Attend White House State Dinner with President Biden and South Korean Leader

Angelina Jolie and her son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, were among the high-profile attendees at a state dinner held on Wednesday evening at the White House. The event was hosted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden in honor of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee.

The star-studded guest list included home improvement celebrities Chip and Joanna Gaines, Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, former LA Dodgers pitcher Chan Ho Park, as well as Broadway stars Norm Lewis, Lea Salonga, and Jessica Vosk.

Jolie donned a vintage Chanel jacket paired with a custom-made dress from years past. She accessorized her ensemble with personal jewelry pieces. In 2019, Jolie visited South Korea when she dropped off Maddox for his freshman year of college at Yonsei University where he planned to study biochemistry.

During the dinner organized to celebrate the "70th anniversary of the U.S.-ROK alliance," which is aimed at advancing peace, stability, prosperity between both countries across the Indo-Pacific region and around the world—the second state dinner under Biden's administration—the White House presented an exquisite handcrafted mahogany table inspired by traditional Korean soban tables. It featured historic woodwork inlaid from previous White Houses accompanied by a brass plaque commemorating this special state visit. To further accentuate its beauty: handmade paper hibiscus flowers alongside rose arrangements crafted by a renowned Korean-American artist filled an elegant vase that adorned it.

Despite being known for her humanitarian efforts through various global causes—having even served as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Special Envoy until late last year—Jolie stepped away from such roles but remains committed to making meaningful contributions whenever possible.
