Will Wilkerson, a former executive who served as vice president of operations for the Trump Media and Technology Group, now works at Starbucks in North Carolina as a barista trainer earning $16 an hour. Despite his previous high-earning potential while working for Trump's organization, Wilkerson chose to prioritize doing "what's right" and is now federally-protected whistleblower.
Wilkerson was fired six months ago after providing 150,000 internal documents, contracts, and emails to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) along with federal and state investigators. He accused Trump Media & Technology Group of violating securities laws but was dismissed from his position with the company stating he had "concocted psychodramas." This month he has been sued for defamation by Truth Social’s chief executive officer (CEO), former California congressman Devin Nunes.
Before his dismissal from the company, Will Wilkerson oversaw the development of Truth Social. However, he decided to distance himself from President Trump after growing concerned that investors were being misled about their investments' security.
"I couldn't stand idly knowing these practices were putting investors at risk," said Wilkerson in a recent interview.
As a result of his actions against alleged violations within Trump Media & Technology Group last October, Will Wilkerson is currently under federal protection due to his status as a whistleblower.
The lawsuit filed by CEO Devin Nunes earlier this month accuses Wilkerson of defamation regarding statements made about Truth Social's stock prices manipulation claims.
Despite facing legal challenges related to defamation allegations brought forward by Nunes in Florida court proceedings this month; The Post described Will Wilkinson as "one of the biggest threats" towards future success for Donald Trump’s media venture - further solidifying him not only within public discourse but also securing his place among those willing to take risks when it comes down standing up for what they believe is right.
Wilkerson now works the 5:30 am shift as a barista trainer inside a Harris Teeter grocery store in North Carolina, embracing his new role and prioritizing doing good over financial gain.
