Microsoft is making its Bing GPT-4 chatbot available to everyone today, with plug-ins coming soon. The open preview launch comes nearly two months after Microsoft experimented with removing the waitlist for its new Bing Chat feature. Microsoft is also adding more smart features to Bing Chat, including image and video results, new Bing and Edge Actions feature, persistent chat and history, and plug-in support.

The plug-In support will be the key addition for developers and for the future of Bing Chat. "Microsoft will share a lot more at its Build conference later this month," said Joanna Smith from Microsoft Communications Team. "We should get a better look at how developers will really extend this chatbot like OpenAI did with ChatGPT in March."

Microsoft has unveiled a major upgrade to its Bing chatbot, adding image and video answers, restaurant bookings, chat history, and some smarter Microsoft Edge integration. These new features also coincide with Microsoft making Bing Chat available for anyone to try moving from private to public preview.

"You’ll now be able to use Microsoft’s Bing AI to complete tasks without having to navigate back-and-forth between sites," explained James Tolley from Azure Cognitive Services team at Microsoft during an interview earlier today.

Microsoft is expanding its reach by increasing language support in their Image Creator tool which now supports over 100 languages while simultaneously improving tone options within Edge mobile compose feature allowing users greater customization when generating text content or asking questions related directly towards pages they are viewing online through their devices' browsers all these innovations come just one week ahead of Google's annual I/O developer conference where industry leaders will undoubtedly take note attempt counter these advances with their own strategies designed specifically for capturing consumer attention within the ever-growing and highly competitive AI chatbot market.

As Microsoft continues to innovate its Bing Chat feature, we can expect more exciting updates and improvements in the coming months. With the Build conference just around the corner, developers and users alike are eagerly awaiting further news on how Microsoft plans to push the boundaries of what a chatbot can do. Meanwhile, Google is gearing up for its own announcements at their annual I/O developer conference, setting the stage for an intense battle between two tech giants in this rapidly evolving space.
