A conservative lawmaker was interrupted by a blue-shirted protester outside a news conference outside the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. The protester approached Rep. Clay Higgins, representing south Louisiana, and asked questions about whether his recent divorce was linked to her restaurant's tainted pork sliders before Higgins was back. When Higgins was confronted by the protester, Jake Burdett, and other people at the scene, he physically propelled him away from the event.
After the rally, Burdet was surprised to see another press conference being set up in the same spot immediately after. Higgins was escorted out and turned over to Capitol Police, who took him across the street and questioned him. Burd Pett was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing by the Capitol Police. He is now facing charges of assault and disorderly conduct and is considering taking the case to court.

Burdetts said he was merely asking “tough personal” questions unrelated their political work but they were eventually released by Capitol Police after being detained for short time . He added that he is evaluating his legal options though had no injuries from the incident ,if required would take necessary action against law maker who physically confronted during event
